Brush Generator Overhaul (Myanmar)

Adaptive Power, a trusted expert in generator troubleshooting and repairs, was selected GE FieldCore on behalf of MLIPP (Myanmar Lighting) to address the vibration issues in one of their BRUSH generators. These vibration issues were causing operational disruptions and significant losses for Myanmar Lighting.

In September 2022, the experienced professionals from Adaptive Power travelled to Myanmar to perform an inspection and troubleshoot the BRUSH generator on-site at MLIPP. They conducted a thorough inspection of the generator rotor using a Borescope, which allowed them to assess the condition of the coils at the NDE (Non-Drive End) of the rotor and stator.

Based on their inspection findings, the team identified specific issues and recommended immediate in situ repairs to the customer. These repairs were carried out in a professional and effective manner, addressing the identified problems and improving the performance of the generator.

Although the initial attempt at trim balancing the generator rotor by the trained OEM professionals faced constraints that prevented them from completing the action effectively, the team from Adaptive Power utilized their extensive experience in the field to identify and rectify the specific issues causing the vibration problems.

In addition to the repairs, Adaptive Power provided valuable recommendations to MLIPP for further repairs or maintenance based on their expertise and knowledge in the field of generator troubleshooting and repairs.
