Major Generator Overhaul (PFLNG)

Adaptive Power selected by Petronas to maintain GE 30MW Generators onboard floating platform PFLNG Satu
  • Adaptive Power was selected to perform inspection, maintenance and in situ repairs to 2 x 30MW Generator Units on board FLNG1, in March 2023.
  • The end to end service works planning, engineering, project management and on site commissioning were performed by our in country team recognized by the industry as OEM professionals.

Petroliam Nasional Berhad’s (Petronas) first floating liquefied natural gas (PFLNG1) facility, also known as PFLNG Satu currently located 90 kilometers northwest of Kota Kinabalu is designed to operate at water depths of up to 200 meters with a production capacity of 1.2million tonnes of LNG per annum.

The GE supplied generators play a critical role in generating power for the vessel so maintenance work needs to be meticulous planned and performed by a reliable and competent team. The individuals at Adaptive power combined their collective years of experience to ensure the work was well planned, key issues identified and where possible rectified in situ.

Adaptive Power and the Petronas team are happy to report the planned preventative maintenance was a success and completed within the scheduled time frame. The teams now look forward to partnering on future outages.
